Testing next generation wireless networks
The evolution of LTE and 802.11 technologies will push the peak data rates to the next level. This is achieved by using adaptive radio links and multi-antenna technologies. To meet the technical challenges and time-to-market targets, Anite has developed an enhanced modelling capability for beam-forming, MIMO, multi-user MIMO and smart antenna testing.
Propsim with Geometric Channel Modelling (GCM) tool enables the network vendors and operators to test base station and network algorithms, link adaptivity and smart antenna solutions in a non-stationary radio channel environment. This multi-channel emulation capability enables the reproduction of directional channel characteristics for beam forming and multi-user MIMO scenarios. System designers can use antenna array patterns available as part of the application, or alternatively use their own simulated or measured antenna beam patterns. The unique Tool enables the user to easily generate stochastic channel emulation models for user-defined geometry-based scenarios. The tool includes 3D extension of SCME, WINNER and IMT-A spatial channel models as well as enhanced capabilities for dynamic modelling, 3D-antenna embedding and polarization modelling.
The new Antenna Array Tool option in the Advanced MIMO Testing Tools enables the modelling of user defined active antenna radiation patterns into CoMP, beam forming and MIMO test cases. The Antenna Array Tool enables users to achieve improved efficiency, accuracy and realism in lab-based testing. Users can easily create advanced test scenarios related to adaptive antennas such as electrical tilt, beam shape and azimuth direction.
