CruiseRes is a comprehensive solution for deep-sea and river cruise operators, covering all aspects of reservation, ticketing, accounting, marketing and administration.
A modular and highly configurable system, it adapts to cover every aspect of every type of cruise, from the most basic point-to-point operation to the most complex and sophisticated round the world offering.
Pricing and yield management
An innovative rules-based model makes it easy for the individual operator to define their own pricing rules, directly linked to contracted costs if required. Rules can be defined to take into account factors such as method of booking, currency or agent type. Price changes can be constrained by date, and prices and costs can be bulk loaded using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
CruiseRes yield management functionality enables application of commissions, concessions and discounts. The concept of ‘deals’ allows the setting of parameters limiting values or percentages to apply to a booking or individual. CruiseRes controls the sale of deals via inventory for individuals or groups, to prevent over-dilution of revenue.
Reservation
CruiseRes reservation functionality is easy to use and can be implemented through a range of channels including the web and Amadeus Cruise.
A reservation centres on a core cruise component — one or more cabins — and includes the option to bundle additional package elements such as flights, transfers and hotels: CruiseRes easily handles ‘cruise and stay’ packages, fly-cruise, and pre- and post-departure accommodation. It also supports dynamic packaging within the reservation process, enabling the building of complex, multi-centre itineraries.
Cabin occupancy levels are the key to profitability. Using best fit algorithms, CruiseRes facilitates occupancy optimisation. It also, once a booking has been made, fully supports invoicing, payment processing, ticketing, booking amendment and cancellation.

Inventory control
Inventory can be controlled for all aspects of travel, accommodation, and extras — chargeable and non-chargeable — and extended to include options like restaurant sittings, numbered cabins, even an entire cruise package. Inventory may be created using a number of charting approaches including nightly, weekly or monthly. CruiseRes also supports less structured methods, such as day of arrival or duration. Inventory controls may also be applied for agents, to allow ‘agent group allocation’ bookings.
Customer database
The customer database is enterprise-wide, travel-oriented, and fully integrated with the reservation process. It is designed to manage customer booking and contact data, track direct marketing activities and handle questionnaire analysis and complaints from the customer relations system. Remote access using a secure browser interface via satellite enables easy, regular ship-to-shore communication.
Documentation
CruiseRes provides a full range of client and administrative pre- and post-departure documentation, and supports a variety of formats. Layout and content of tickets, vouchers, itineraries and invoices is entirely under the operator’s control.
Reporting
CruiseRes provides a range of decision support tools, including management reporting extracts to aid operations and forecasting. Decision support via Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) enables in-house development of reports using standard tools such as Microsoft Excel or Crystal Reports. Our consultancy service can help identify reporting requirements and extract invaluable management information from data.
